We can’t say enough about this bracelet!  Southwest style done uniquely right.

The Harmonics collection features the jewelry finishing technique of Granulation and Oxidation.

Granulation is a technique that dates back to the Etruscans and has been perfected in traditional Balinese jewelry.  Small grains of silver are fused to a solid plate of silver.  They are attached only at the point of contact.  Silver wire is cut into small bits and a torch applied so that the bits become spheres.  The spheres are then sorted by size through a sifter.  Once the granules are sorted they are hand applied to the piece being made.

Oxidized silver is darker and has a smoky look.  A sulfur oxidation solution is hand applied evenly with a small, frayed piece of wood.  This time-consuming method creates a smooth, even surface with no evidence of brush marks.  The surface has a dark or antiqued finish.  High polished areas are more dramatic against the backdrop of oxidation.

Gathered from rare corners of the earth, Michou’s Harmonics collection is an arrangement of elegant techniques played out in radiant musical chords.

A melody of large voluptuous stones in stunning Arizona turquoise from the Kingman Mine is the focal point of this collection.  Intricate patterns dance in a musical symmetry around each stone: high polished, sleek silver bezels captured within golden beads of granulation inside a hammered disc oxidized framework…each element building in mathematical precision against the graceful flow of notes.

Look for a harmonious balance of contrasts, homage to the ancient secret society of the Pythagoreans, who worshipped mathematics as an art form rather than science, a musical gift from the Gods.
